The Singapore EDITION and Boulevard 88: A Landmark in Luxury Mixed-Use Architecture in Singapore
A showcase of luxury mixed-use architecture in Singapore, combining hotel and residential living through nature, skybridges, and skyline views.
A New Benchmark for Luxury Mixed-Use Architecture in Singapore
In the heart of Singapore’s bustling Orchard Road district stands a striking new addition to the skyline—The Singapore EDITION and Boulevard 88, a visionary project by Safdie Architects. Seamlessly integrating a boutique hotel and luxury residences, this mixed-use development sets a new standard for urban living in one of Asia’s most vibrant cities. The design embodies Safdie Architects’ signature harmony between structure, nature, and lifestyle, redefining the essence of luxury in high-density contexts.

Strategic Urban Integration
Occupying a compact yet highly desirable site near Orchard Road, the development overcomes spatial constraints with a masterful organization of vertical and horizontal elements. It comprises Boulevard 88, a pair of elegant residential towers, and The Singapore EDITION, a limited-edition global boutique hotel. The entire ensemble is meticulously layered to ensure distinct yet fluid transitions between public, semi-private, and private spaces—creating a rich urban environment within a constrained footprint.

A Garden Oasis in the City
At the core of the project lies a lushly planted sunken garden, embraced on three sides by the hotel structure. This secluded green space functions as both a visual and physical connector and separator between the hotel and the residential components. The garden fosters a serene atmosphere where guests and residents can engage with nature, offering both tranquility and visual delight in the midst of the city’s urban energy.

Elevated Luxury: Skybridge and Amenities
Connecting the hotel towers at the ninth level is a skybridge oasis—a ribbon of architecture and landscape suspended in the sky. This level features a 50-meter swimming pool, a sun deck, and an outdoor bar, all surrounded by lush greenery and mature trees. A unique underwater acrylic oculus provides a surreal visual link between the pool and the garden courtyard below, turning everyday activities into extraordinary experiences.

Sculpted Living Spaces in the Sky
Above the hotel podium rise the residential towers of Boulevard 88, dramatically lifted on tall columns to float above the bustling Orchard Boulevard. This elevated design ensures panoramic views and a sense of openness for even the lower-level residences. Each unit features spacious, tree-planted balconies, staggered to enhance privacy and offer residents a peaceful connection to the sky and greenery.

Skypark Living with Iconic City Views
Crowning the twin towers is a Skypark, a vast recreational platform that stitches the two towers together with luxurious amenities. Residents can unwind in the infinity pool that stretches the entire length of the Skypark or lounge in both indoor and outdoor spaces offering commanding views of the city. At the apex, four exclusive penthouse residences are housed within the bridge truss structure, each offering a private plunge pool and an unmatched urban vista.

A Convergence of Global Talent
The design and execution of The Singapore EDITION and Boulevard 88 brought together world-class collaborators including Acviron Acoustics Consultants, Sitetectonix, Madison Cox, Axis, CAP Atelier, and Isometrix among others. These teams contributed their expertise in acoustics, landscape architecture, interiors, lighting, and engineering to ensure that the architectural vision was realized in every detail.

Transforming the Singapore Skyline
More than just a place to stay or live, The Singapore EDITION and Boulevard 88 exemplify the potential of luxury mixed-use architecture in Singapore. With its harmonious fusion of greenery, architecture, and lifestyle amenities, it is a blueprint for future urban developments that seek to elevate both human experience and environmental integration.
