TM House by Jacobsen Arquitetura: Modern Family Living Overlooking Porto Feliz Lake
TM House by Jacobsen Arquitetura is a modern, multigenerational lakeside home in Brazil, blending natural contours, light, and seamless family living.
Nestled on a serene plot overlooking a large lake on the outskirts of São Paulo, TM House by Jacobsen Arquitetura is a stunning example of contemporary residential architecture designed for multigenerational family living. The home was built for a mother and her two daughters, seamlessly blending modern design with the natural contours of the sloping terrain.

Design Concept: Harmony with Nature
TM House embraces a non-orthogonal design, carefully adapted to the topography of the site. The architecture respects the land’s natural slopes, ensuring minimal disruption to the landscape while maximizing lake views and natural light.

Spatial Organization for Family Life
The single-story residence is thoughtfully divided into distinct blocks reflecting the family’s structure:
- Matriarch Block: Includes the social areas and master suite, designed for comfort and privacy.
- Daughters’ Blocks: Each daughter has her own suite, offering independence while maintaining proximity to family spaces.
- Topographic Block: Mirroring the natural relief, this block accommodates the spa, garage, and service areas.

All blocks are interconnected through covered walkways, a design gesture that physically links spaces while symbolically representing the family bond.

Interior Design: Light, Ventilation, and Privacy
In the main block, gardens act as visual shields, ensuring privacy in intimate areas while promoting cross ventilation and natural airflow. Open-plan social areas flow seamlessly, offering a comfortable and inviting environment for family gatherings.

Outdoor Living: Pool and Landscaping
An external landscaped staircase leads to the pool, strategically positioned to maintain unobstructed lake views. The height and location of the pool were carefully tested to harmonize with the surrounding environment.

Architectural Details: Modern Aesthetics and Functionality
The house features an outer skin of Venetian blinds, selected by the client to enhance privacy and control sunlight. A metal structure forms the backbone of the residence, while cantilevered eaves up to six meters provide solar protection and define generous transitional areas between indoor and outdoor spaces.

TM House exemplifies modern Brazilian architecture, combining functional family living, natural integration, and aesthetic sophistication.
