Villa Ardjuno: A Modern Oceanfront Retreat by Jettaliving in South Kuta, Bali
Villa Ardjuno in Bali by Jettaliving features modern open-plan design, ocean views, natural materials, oak interiors, and serene indoor-outdoor living.
Perched atop the scenic hills of Ungasan in South Kuta, Bali, Villa Ardjuno by Jettaliving is a contemporary private villa designed as a serene escape from urban life. Completed in 2024, this 600 m² residence combines modern architecture with Bali’s natural landscape, emphasizing expansive ocean views and seamless indoor-outdoor living.

Contextual Design Inspired by Bali’s Natural Beauty
The villa is strategically positioned to capture sweeping vistas of the Jimbaran hill and the open ocean. Every bedroom and primary living area, including the kitchen and dining spaces, benefits from this spectacular landscape. The design concept focuses on highlighting the natural surroundings, allowing the architecture to wrap around the site, harmoniously absorbing the essence of the hilltop location.
The architectural approach relies on simple geometric forms, conveying a sense of lightness and effortless elegance. The design maintains a humble yet timeless aesthetic, blending the interior and exterior seamlessly to create a space that feels both modern and enduring.

Thoughtful Spatial Planning
Villa Ardjuno is organized into open-plan areas on the ground floor, including living, dining, and kitchen spaces that flow naturally toward the outdoors. The four bedrooms occupy the upper floor, each positioned to frame a portion of the mesmerizing ocean view, ensuring every room offers a private connection to nature.
Visitors entering the villa are greeted by an isolated courtyard and a reflective pool, followed by a compressed corridor leading to the main living areas. This intentional spatial sequence creates a sense of anticipation, culminating in the breathtaking ocean view from the central living space, a defining feature of the villa’s experiential design.

Maximizing Views and Natural Light
The villa features a long-span living area opening designed to optimize the hillside perspective, allowing occupants to relax while observing the sun’s movement throughout the day. Bedroom windows on the upper floor echo this strategy, providing a framed view of the ocean and reinforcing the villa’s connection to its natural setting.

Material Palette and Interior Atmosphere
Locally sourced Balinese stone forms the core of the villa’s exterior, complemented with beige-textured paint and granite finishes to create a cohesive, natural palette. Interiors are dominated by oak wood and monochromatic tones, fostering a sense of calm, lightness, and relaxation throughout the spaces. The combination of natural materials and clean lines reinforces the villa’s modern yet timeless character.

Architecture and Interior Design Team
The villa was brought to life by a collaborative team led by Lead Architect Jefri Buntoro, with interior design by Jettaliving Design Studio. Structural engineering was managed by Savvy Structure Design, and general contracting, MEP works were executed by Prima Kreasi Dewata. The project incorporated high-quality manufacturers such as Gessi, Ateson, Daikin, Dekton, Estica International, Imola, Kohler, Mapei, and Schindler.
Villa Ardjuno stands as a masterful example of contemporary Balinese villa design, merging context-sensitive architecture with luxurious modern living, where every element: materials, spatial layout, and views, enhances the sense of calm and retreat.
