Zarzales House by PPAA – Valle de Bravo, Mexico
Zarzales House by PPAA in Valle de Bravo blends modern design with nature, featuring gabled roofs, light-filled spaces, and forest integration.
Designed by PPAA and led by architect Pablo Pérez Palacios, the Zarzales House is a 6,943 ft² vacation home nestled in the serene landscapes of Valle de Bravo, Mexico. Completed in 2022, this retreat is thoughtfully integrated with its natural surroundings, creating a harmonious dialogue between architecture and nature. Surrounded by majestic pine forests, the home offers a tranquil escape, where occupants can reconnect with the environment and enjoy moments of rest and relaxation.

The project is organized into two primary volumes: the social area, designed to gather family and friends, and the private bedroom area, dedicated to rest and privacy. The architecture embraces openness and fluidity, with ample natural light and interior spaces that blur the line between inside and outside, fostering a seamless connection with the lush surroundings.

The house features gabled roofs, a response to Valle de Bravo’s frequent rains, while terraces and carefully placed openings preserve the mature pine trees on the property. These design choices not only respect the existing landscape but also enhance the sense of immersion within nature. The careful placement of the volumes ensures minimal impact on the environment, celebrating the timeless beauty of the forest while providing functional, light-filled living spaces.

Crafted with attention to wood, beams, and natural materials, Zarzales House balances modern comfort with environmental sensitivity, offering a unique retreat that merges architectural sophistication with the serenity of the Mexican forest.
