Artificial Islands
Designed environments built on water, from floating structures to reclaimed islands and offshore interventions.
Idigna Renewal Islands
"From neglected islands to ecological lifelines"the Tigris River (Idigna), once the heart of Mesopotamian civilization, now faces severe pollution. This project reimagines its islands through ecological and architectural interventions. Using Island as a prototype, it proposes a replicable model for river regeneration, integrating research with a cultu
ONOMA Architecture Rescues a 1958 Mercer Island Home and Gives It a Second Life
A full gut renovation on a wooded Mercer Island lot preserves midcentury Douglas fir bones while rethinking every wall around them.
mmkplus Resurrects a Forgotten Artificial Island on Seoul's Han River as a Modular Cultural Park
Nodeul Island Park reclaims a 30-acre abandoned landmass with terraced plazas, a performance hall, and a village-like grid of public life.
Floating Architecture and Offshore Adaptive Design: Proximity Island – Frame
A floating architecture experiment that responds to sea-level rise, framing the ocean horizon while redefining offshore adaptive design.
Proximity Island: A Vision of Sustainable Floating Architecture
Sustainable floating architecture reimagines oil rigs as cultural ecosystems, merging sea, society, and adaptive reuse into a living ocean city.
Panju Island: Community towards better Future
Eco-tourism model for an estuarine island in Vasai Creek, Mumbai. The project is intended to create harmony between the existing ecology and the community living on the island.
ORPHIC
Orphic, meaning, mysterious and entrancing; beyond ordinary understanding, was chosen due to the hidden structure behind the long spruce trees. And giving a mysterious sensation when approaching the island with a boat.
Proximity Island
Repurposing an oil rig to repent for its sins as a tool for ecocide by designing a modular city that helps users change their attitudes towards nature and the sea through art, learning, research and contemplation.
omg absolutely love this !!!!
Aquatic AlveolusType a message
This is a very interesting and very beautiful proposal. It works well both as a living unit and as a community. It takes into account and develops several issues like energy, food, and water supply or recreation areas. It merges with the environment and addresses issues related to structural problems due to water pressure. The only weak point I see has to do with settling on the ocean bed by means of a concrete structure.

My daughter!Fighting!
I will support you forever.You go,girl.
In terms of design, the approach used is very symbolic, but lacks an explanation of the functions required as residential. And the module there is also a lack of explanation.
DRIFT
Worlds apart, separated by translucent and ballasted membranes. Architecture unto water as a drifting entity of observation, meditation and inter-terrestrial connection. Architecture could be topical, above, below, or carried with the falling of waves. The eroded platform becomes the microcosm, adrift in the Adriatic, only kept near through the anchored Rig.
Current Interventions..The New Frontier
A vertical consolidated submersible and self-sustainable station that intercepts the upwelling currents catching nutrients. The stations contribute to the propagation of endangered species by providing artificial liquid spaces by concrete membranes as well containing plankton from upwelling currents in the coral reef.
An interesting proposal that is presented in a very complicated way that doesn´t help to understand it. It addresses more the working resources than the living spaces.

An Alternative Architectural Solution to use Aquatic Infrastructure as an Integrated Facility.

Architectural Ideas for Repurposing Oil rigs
A strong and imaginative proposal that reconnects Baghdad with the Tigris through ecology, culture, and public life. Further technical development of the environmental systems could make this promising regenerative strategy even more convincing.
