Amphibious Commons

Amphibious Commons is a strategy that works across public spaces in Kerala, from a single cluster, to a market, to a regional transit network. During flood conditions, it restores what the flood removes, a shared ground plane, and in post flooding conditions, this public ground becomes a formwork for bamboo reinforced concrete construction.

Rethinking Resilience

The project embraces flood as a natural phenomena as the premise to imagine the possibility of secure human habitation. With this as the central idea, the project defines resilience to be two fold- 1.to be prepared before flood. 2. sustenance and recuperating post flood scenario. Rain

We live under towering skyscrapers, often feeling overwhelmed. To reduce this pressure, we propose a climate-responsive tower. Instead of rigid structures, the design embraces organic curves, creating a softer urban experience. With Singapore’s water agreement ending in 2061, the building integrates a rainwater system for self-sufficiency and security.

A lot of time has been spent on developing the visual aesthetic of the fog catcher resulting in a well-designed piece. The link to protest is less well developed and feels underexplored.

Connected Vessels

This project explores the idea of water systems connecting through a network of vessels. Water moves through the site in an open loop; it is collected and directed into a cleansing system on site which purifies it on one side and releases it on the other. Through this process the water maintains its equilibrium and provides a lively environment.
