Nestled in the vibrant heart of Tel Aviv's historic Shenkin Street, Alon Shabo Patisserie exemplifies a seamless blend of minimalist architecture and culinary artistry. Renowned pastry chef Alon Shabo selected this bustling neighborhood, known for its trendy boutiques and bohemian cafés, as the ideal backdrop for his modern patisserie.

The design by Studio Simon Barazin emphasizes simplicity and subtlety, allowing the pastries to take center stage. Neutral gray tones, clean lines, and basic geometric forms define the interior, creating a calm visual contrast to the vibrant street outside. Every material choice reinforces this restrained elegance, ensuring the focus remains on Shabo’s exquisite creations.

A striking element within the interior is the custom seating system, which introduces playful contrast to the minimal palette. Oval-shaped benches in bright blue provide visual interest and brand identity, drawing attention from passersby and enhancing the store’s street presence. The seating’s iconic formality and bold color make it a distinctive feature, balancing both function and aesthetic appeal.

The patisserie spans two levels. The ground floor features the main kitchen and a display counter, fostering direct interaction between staff and customers. Adjacent seating areas allow guests to enjoy pastries alongside designer serving utensils curated from local and international artisans. Small tables and stool benches integrate seamlessly with the outdoor street sequence, blurring the line between interior and exterior spaces.

The upper level houses staff facilities, including a preparation kitchen, storage, and restrooms. These areas remain functional yet unobtrusive, supporting daily operations while preserving the minimalist elegance of the public spaces.

Studio Simon Barazin’s design philosophy for Alon Shabo Patisserie demonstrates how restraint in color, geometry, and materiality can elevate a small retail space into an immersive experience. Visitors are greeted by clarity, comfort, and visual harmony, reflecting both Tel Aviv’s creative energy and the artistry of Alon Shabo’s pastry craft.
