Army Institute of Business Administration, Sylhet
A contextual and Ideology based approach to a campus design
As society changes at a breakneck pace, it also affects the educational environment, generating several paradigm shifts with shifting pedagogy. Recently, educators have sought future-proof solutions for educational institutions since the future is often unpredictable. By this point, both pedagogy and architecture had established their right to design instructional settings. At this stage, the designers' task is to envision an educational center where teaching and architecture coexist.
Within this reality, the project "Design of Army Institute of Business Administration" is being implemented in Sylhet, Bangladesh's suburban region, emphasizing an innovative and cooperative learning environment's contextual and ideological aspects. This institute's mission is to assist students in developing leadership skills and obtaining the professionalism necessary to succeed in the global marketplace of business.
This thesis aspires to provide a way to imagine a campus's identity in which teaching and architecture coexist together. It is accomplished not only via the provision of multigrade teaching methodology but also through design such as informal learning spaces, smooth indoor-outdoor transitions, and outdoor learning spaces. It hopes to provide an image that exemplifies the symbiotic relationship between space and pedagogy, establishing the business institution as a source of pride for the community.
