DB House by Aguirre Arquitetura: A Minimalist Residence Overlooking Uberlândia

Located in a gated community in Uberlândia, Brazil, DB House by Aguirre Arquitetura redefines contemporary residential living through minimalism, landscape integration, and strong social design. Completed in 2022, the 435 m² home sits on a steeply sloped terrain, allowing the architecture to rise above the natural ground level and capture panoramic views of the surrounding region.

Elevated Design on a Challenging Terrain

The sloping site became a driving force in the project’s architectural solution. By elevating the main living and leisure areas, the architects not only maximized views but also created a natural division of spaces:

• Lower level: service and support areas.
• Upper level: social and leisure spaces with direct landscape connection.

This vertical organization ensures privacy while granting the living zones openness, light, and strong interaction with nature.

A Home Designed for Social Living

The clients envisioned a residence designed for entertaining family and friends. To meet this vision, the architects designed an open-plan kitchen that seamlessly integrates with the living and leisure spaces. A central feature is the infinity pool, positioned at the edge of the plot, which visually merges the water with the horizon.

Large pivoting doors at the entrance enhance permeability between indoors and outdoors, blurring the boundary between architecture and nature. The entire residence functions as a social hub, where leisure and gathering define the architectural experience.

Minimalism and Natural Materials

The house embraces minimalist architecture through clean horizontal lines, geometric precision, and a restrained material palette. Concrete surfaces contrast with natural finishes, while carefully designed landscaping softens the built environment.

A highlight of the design is the use of carbonized wood for pivoting doors. This traditional material treatment enriches the façade with a textured, rustic yet sophisticated appearance. Combined with natural stone, glass, and wood, the materials create warmth, balance, and timeless elegance.

Architecture in Harmony with Nature

The project establishes a constant dialogue with vegetation and landscape. Gardens extend into courtyards, outdoor living spaces flow naturally from the interiors, and the infinity pool becomes a reflecting plane connecting architecture to its surroundings.

DB House stands as an architectural statement of contemporary Brazilian residential design—sustainable, minimalist, and deeply connected to nature.
