KALO.K
Camping for the future
Reimagining the Rivermouth Carpark in Margaret River, Western Australia
KALO.K, the name that we gave to the project, transforms the area into a layered destination that enhances both the natural setting and the travel experience.
The key of Kalo.K is that with the given square meters we do this elevated architectural design so we win more square meters in the same area and we also gain sea view for each guest.
The project is also enriched by a lateral stair case and a elevator that permits a very good permation of the whole area, making sure that no one is left behind. Thanks to the elevator the aged people and the dysables are able to enjoy Kalo.K and the sea view.
Doubling the usable area allows spaces for recreation, services, and accommodation to co-exist without compromising the landscape. In Kalo.K this is showed on the third floor, where the space hosts a part for the cafè, where people can enjoy a coffe and a slice of cake, and a public space for grill adn barbecue, open to all guests.
Each accomodations in Kalo.K has a personal bath and toilet, while the cooking and eating process becomes a convivial experience on the ground floor, where they can also buy their food from the local supermarket sited on the ground floor.
The materials of Kalo.K are stick constructions, using the bridge principle, wood, glass and alluminium.
