"Resurrecting the Past Norrmalm"
the story behind the project: "Resurrecting the Past Norrmalm"
The inspiration first came from the topic given in the competition. Since it mentioned key words about "sustainability", "reappearance", "decay and decomposition", etc., it made me think about not only physical decay and decomposition. , there are also key words about the historical meaning of "disappearance and rebirth". They just have different media, and then I want to try to use a device to concretely connect them together.
Q1:What was the concept behind the project?
A:As for the concept behind it, I came across some local historical stories about Stockholm by chance. Perhaps the essence is derived from an abstract historical narrative. I want to use it to express some serious historical themes.
Q2:What was the intent behind the organization of elements across various levels (Architectural, Site, Urban)?
A:The aim is to express the topic more appropriately
Q3:How many iterations were tried to arrive at the final outcome?
A:It took about one to two weeks of thinking about how to express this abstract theme in this environment. Two of the more complete plans were overturned.
Q4:Which methods of design investigation?
A:Large-scale information collection and text reading, including short-term exchanges with local netizens.
Q5:How was the programme condensed into final?
A:List the many branches, choose what you want to express most, and then the theme you want will appear.
Q6:What/How were the materials chosen?
A:Biochemical composite organic material, which is an organic clay, can quickly grow fungi or plants (moss, lichen) in a natural state
Q7:How was a specific objective attempted to be met?
A:Using the installation gives me a lot of freedom. The main thing I think about is how people can participate in the process and how it can affect people themselves.
Q8:What is the expansion plan of the project?
A:No confirmed expansion plans yet
Q9:How will the project transform with the passing time? etc.
A:The device will eventually be decomposed by nature, used as a habitat by insects and birds, or washed away by heavy rain, and will always return to nature.
