The stacked cabins on the Pyrenean Haute Route are the epitome of resilience on one of the most hiked routes in the world. The cabins achieve this using local manufacturers providing modular design/construction systems. These modular options allow for almost a make-by-piece structure that can quickly and easily be repaired should damage arise. The building also uses different sustainable aspects, including PV Panels, Rain collection systems, Passive Heating and Cooling, and Timber Construction Materials.

The building is meant to provide a haven for hikers while embracing the natural landscape of the Pyrenean Route. Being able to be remote and self-sustaining to adjust to the tricky terrain is what the stacked cabins are striving to accomplish.
