Bench and lamp system designed for places where people naturally gather such as squares and parks
Faro was born from the idea that public lighting can become much more than a simple urban function: a meeting point, a shared space, a small center for community life. The bench and lamp system is designed for places where people naturally gather such as squares, parks, courtyards, and pedestrian paths, transforming light into an active element of social interaction.
At the center of the project there is a solar powered lighting pole around which three modular leaf shaped seats rotate. The “leaves” can open and reconfigure themselves, adapting to different situations and ways of use: from informal conversations to reading, from playing games to individual moments of rest. The opening movement of the seats creates ever changing layouts that encourage interaction and connection between people. In this way, light becomes a social catalyst capable of making public spaces more welcoming and alive during the evening hours.
The system integrates low consumption LED lighting together with a LED strip placed beneath the lower seat, creating a soft glow on the ground that improves atmosphere, perception, and safety within the space. The central pole also includes charging ports for mobile devices, offering a practical service especially for younger users and encouraging people to spend more time in public spaces. The energy collected during the day is stored in integrated batteries placed inside the base, making the system autonomous and sustainable.
