Located in the bustling area of Garosu-gil in Gangnam-gu, South Korea, the reworks120 Eyewear Shop, designed by architectural firm RVMN, offers a fresh take on eyewear retail spaces. As a beacon of innovative retail interior design, this shop has been transformed to cater to discerning customers looking for premium eyewear in a space that enhances their shopping experience.

Design Philosophy and Customer Experience

Emphasizing Consumer Interaction

Choosing the right pair of glasses is a personal and thoughtful process. At reworks120, the design is centered around enhancing customer interaction through the physical space. The architects have crafted an environment where each element encourages customers to explore and engage with the products. The concept of "Wearable volume" as described by the architects, integrates activities such as selecting glasses, consulting with experts, and relaxing in a single, well-defined space.

Architectural Layout and Features

First Floor - The Face of the Store

The first floor serves as the introduction to reworks120's unique brand identity. It features a central table and display walls that seamlessly blend into the existing architecture. The simplicity of the layout belies its diversity, offering a clear and focused environment for product exploration.

Second Floor - A Continued Experience

The second floor maintains its original layout, providing a continuation of the customer journey. This level uses space effectively to create a narrative that complements the shopping experience, guiding customers through their visit from entry to departure.

Materials and Aesthetic Choices

Material Diversity and Aesthetic Appeal

In its redesign, reworks120 employs a variety of materials including wood, metal, and acrylic, which prevent monotony while enriching the tactile experience. The use of a warm ivory-colored special paint contrasts with the colder concrete elements, softening the overall aesthetic and enhancing the welcoming nature of the space.

Visibility and Natural Light

One of the key features of the store is its large windows, which not only allow for natural lighting but also make the space inviting to passersby. This element of design underscores the importance of visibility and external appeal in retail settings.

 A Model for Retail Innovation

reworks120 Eyewear Shop stands as a prime example of innovative retail interior design, showcasing how thoughtful architecture and design can transform a conventional retail space into an engaging and delightful experience. This project by RVMN Architects not only redefines the brand image of reworks120 but also sets a new standard for retail environments in urban settings.
