Originally inaugurated in 1976 on the 42nd floor of the head office, the move marked a pivotal moment in the museum's history.

Yasuaki Nakafuji, the lead architect, envisioned the museum not merely as a structure but as a sculptural work of art. Departing from conventional typological forms, the building's exterior mirrors the graceful curves of Seiji Togo's iconic works, creating a memorable and visually striking design.
