Yashobhoomi Complex: India’s Iconic Mixed-Use Urban Landmark
Yashobhoomi Complex is a 225-acre mixed-use hub in India, featuring exhibition halls, convention centre, arena, sustainable design, and urban connectivity.
The Yashobhoomi Complex, designed collaboratively by CP Kukreja Architects and IDOM, stands as a groundbreaking model of contemporary mixed-use urban development in India. Spanning over 225 acres in the capital, this visionary project combines culture, technology, and innovation to create a world-class hub for business, exhibitions, and international events.
Completed in its first phase in 2023, the complex already showcases two exhibition halls, parking facilities for 3,000 vehicles, and comprehensive site servicing. By 2025, the development will include three additional exhibition halls, retail centers, hotels, offices, museums, and a 20,000-seat indoor arena featuring India’s first circular retractable roof, establishing Yashobhoomi as a central player in global exhibitions and conventions.

Architecture and Design Concept
Conceived at a Central Business District (CBD) scale, the Yashobhoomi Complex seamlessly integrates Indian cultural identity with contemporary architectural strategies. The design embodies India’s progressive vision while providing a platform for both domestic and international businesses to engage in meaningful interactions.
The Convention Centre is a pinnacle of the complex, designed to host over 11,000 people. Its facilities include a 6,000+ seat main auditorium, a 2,300+ capacity grand ballroom, 15 versatile convention rooms accommodating up to 3,000 guests, and multiple smaller meeting spaces. A defining architectural element is the 100,000 sq.ft. external LED video wall, one of the largest in the world, wrapping the rooftop and tilting outward at 45 degrees for enhanced visibility and interaction.

Sustainability and Urban Integration
Sustainability is central to Yashobhoomi’s design. The campus emphasizes walkability and universal accessibility through pedestrian zones, shaded green boulevards, and car-free areas, while a metro station within the site facilitates seamless connectivity. Provisions for electric transport and water-sensitive landscaping contribute to a sustainable and resilient microclimate.
The exhibition halls are engineered for flexibility, each spanning approximately 80 x 80 meters, allowing for modular configurations to suit diverse events. Multiple entrances create urban permeability, integrating the complex harmoniously with the surrounding city fabric.

Future Vision and Impact
Yashobhoomi is more than a convention and exhibition hub: it represents a mini-cityscape designed to foster economic growth, architectural innovation, and urban biodiversity. Strategically located adjacent to major transportation nodes, it provides effortless access for both international and domestic visitors, supporting India’s ambition to emerge as a global leader in exhibition, convention, and event infrastructure.
By merging cultural authenticity, advanced technology, and sustainable design, Yashobhoomi sets new standards for mixed-use developments in India. It exemplifies urban planning excellence, innovative engineering, and a visionary approach to large-scale infrastructure projects.
