Environmental Architecture
Architecture designed with environmental responsibility, using sustainable materials and climate-responsive strategies.
e-den: Sustainable Architecture for Recolonizing a Post-Apocalyptic Earth
e-den reimagines sustainable architecture as a living mangrove-inspired system that shelters humanity while helping a damaged Earth recover.
Making architecture that is really sustainable
Design for kids where 'Form Follows Climate'
The illusion of permanence: the design for disassembly framework
Traditional architecture’s focus on permanence overlooks the environmental constraints of climate urgency. Design for Disassembly (DfD) challenges this by planning buildings to be dismantled, reused, or relocated. This thesis investigates the ecological and socio-economic potentials of DfD, exploring how modularity and reversible connections shape future-oriented construction. Shifting focus from building to responsibly unbuilding redefines permanence for a sustainable lifecycle.
very interesting
Earth Side: Between the Ground and the Returning Body
Loss is not life’s interruption but its condition. This research reimagines the hospice in Montagu, Western Cape, as a threshold rather than a terminus, mediating private, communal and inherited grief. In a South Africa where apartheid’s death geographies still shape who dies with dignity, access to care remains uneven. Moving beyond clinical models, the project foregrounds emotional, spiritual and ancestral dimensions of dying, positioning architecture as an act of care, repair and passage.
THE OASIS BIOME: A REGENERATIVE AGROECOSYSTEM
An inquiry into regenerative agro-structure through the design of The Oasis Biome, this report explores how architecture can act as a living ecosystem to support climate-resilient food production. Drawing from standards of agroecology, managed environment agriculture, and water-saving technology, it proposes a spatial systems where cultivation, conservation, and community empowerment intersect. The project is situated in Birulia, Savar, and serves as a design-primarily based academic research under the Bachelor of Architecture program at Southeast University.
Mud-Ulor Bus
İn my opinion it's fantastic.
It is sustainable functional and perfectly designed.
Fantastic
Very good concept, well engineered and integrated, somehow design doesn't resemble how intelligent and consistent the concept is.
so pure
amazing. it's far-out form and you cut the mustard
AURA LIBRARY
Aura Library transforms environmental intelligence into social architecture. Using multi-objective parametric optimization, daylight, thermal comfort, visual comfort, and energy performance become design generators for a library where knowledge emerges through interaction, collaboration, and shared human experience.
Udhayam - A brownfield development initiative, Case of Brahmapuram
Udhayam explores the metamorphosis of a brownfield site into a research-oriented and publicly accessible hub. Research institute evolving development strategies for post-industrial landscapes including restoration zones supporting biodiversity is the program. Beginning with a critical study of post-landfill sites, ecological mapping informed site structuring, and the form concluded stilted structures to minimize ground disturbance.
Nice 👍
Inspirational work❤️
Very inspirational !
Khushi Shirur portfolio 2025
This portfolio explores a range of architecture projects addressing real-world challenges across diverse global contexts. It includes Infill affordable housing, Adaptive reuse of rooftops, and Disaster relief shelter design each focusing on issues of density, sustainability, and resilience. Together, the work reflects a commitment to human-centered, practical design that responds to contemporary social and environmental needs.
Rooted
Architecture does not begin with form. It begins with listening— to the ground beneath, the culture around, and the materials that the land offers. These six projects span landscape and structure, wetland and mountain, urban density and open field. What holds them together is not a style. It is a conviction— that the best architecture grows from where it stands. Rooted is a body of work built on that belief.
Architecture Portfolio 2021-2026 | Loujainne Youssef
This portfolio showcases a selection of architectural projects that integrate creative design, technical precision, and sustainable thinking. Developed through BIM-based workflows and environmental performance analysis, each project reflects a holistic approach to architecture, balancing functionality, innovation, and climate-responsive design while delivering high-quality visualization and technical documentation
Fostering Coexistence: Revitalizing Coastal Communities and Integrating Ecological Restoration in Karachi
This project reimagines Ibrahim Hyderi through a regenerative framework that combines wetland filtration, mangrove restoration, circular waste management, and community-led livelihoods. By integrating ecological restoration with resilient design, it demonstrates how architecture can strengthen biodiversity, climate resilience, and the well-being of coastal communities.
Heritage and Ecology: Indigenous Microclimate Strategies for Community Spaces in Southern Senegal
Southern Senegal possesses a rich tradition of climate-responsive indigenous architecture. This research reinterprets that knowledge to develop sustainable community spaces that integrate heritage, ecology, and contemporary design.
URBAN ZEN FITNESS
Urban Zen Fitness is a holistic wellness-oriented urban fitness center designed around the philosophy of Yin and Yang, symbolizing the balance between activity and stillness. Located at the suburban edge of Manchester, the project responds to its dual context—dense residential fabric on one side and open green landscape on the other—by acting as a transitional interface between the built and natural environment.
This is such an insightful and beautifully done piece
Good idea
